简介

My research is in the areas of algorithm design and analysis, computational linguistics, and theory of computation with applications in bioinformatics and genomics. I am interested in developing efficient algorithms to solve computation-intensive problems, many of which arise in biological and medical sciences. My recent research work has largely involved new effective methods and algorithms to solve non-coding RNA gene finding and 3D structure prediction, based on notions and techniques in algorithmic graph theory. My research is sponsored by National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Science Foundation (NSF). I co-direct RNA-Informatics Lab at UGA with Russell Malmberg of Departments of Plant Biology and Genetics. In the Fall semester of 2015, I teach CSCI 4470/6470 Algorithms. My teaching interests are in line with foundation of computing. I have recently taught these courses.
