In November of 2014 she released a documentary, "Building a Family." This film inspired her to help document and tell the stories of people preparing for adoption. After experiencing this process first hand, she was inspired to contribute her skills to help bring families together through the adoption process. Stevens has been recognized nationally and internationally for her work across different medias, including an American Graphic Design Award in November 2014, but her proudest achievements happen everyday through the work of her students. Stevens has an AAS in digital illustration, a BFA in graphic design from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a M.S. in multimedia photography from the Newhouse School.
