Professor Roetzel’s areas of scholarly interest include New Testament studies, particularly the Pauline texts. His scholarship also deals with Paul’s reception as a figure of authority in the early Church, and related questions that can be asked of Paul’s Jewish contemporaries, Philo and Josephus.
