简介

My research focuses on syntax and the interaction between syntax and other components of grammar, with the broad goal of determining how human languages are the same and how they may vary. In recent years, my research has focused on the linguistic representation of aspectual information, the role of aspect in argument realization, and how aspect may vary across languages. Additional research interests include the syntax and semantics of discourse particles, the representation and interpretation of ellipsis, the structure of verb phrases and the structure of wh-questions. My research has received support from the Chiang Ching-Kuo Foundation, the Pacific Cultural Foundation, the Graduate School and the College of Liberal Arts of the University of Minnesota
