Dr. Brann serves as Immediate Past Chair of the Pediatric Nutrition Practice Group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Dr. Brann's research interests include the examination of dietary intake and diet quality of children and adolescents related to growth, development and health, as well as mindful eating to improve self-regulation in children. She is involved in two research collaborations (one with Upstate Medical University on a study of growth, development and health of female adolescent gymnasts compared to non-gymnasts; the other with a colleague in Public Health examining the environmental toxicants, race and cardiovascular disease risk in children) where she oversees the collection and analysis of dietary data. Brann and two colleagues from Falk College are investigating the effects of a mindful eating and yoga intervention with preschool-aged children.
