Bruce Miller is a professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Texas Christian University, where he has served on the faculty since 1971. He received a B.A. from Columbia University in 1963, an M.Sc. from the University of Chicago in 1965 and a Ph.D. from Rice University in 1969. All of his degrees are in physics. His research interests are in the fields of Statistical Physics and Nonlinear Dynamics where he is especially interested in systems with long-range forces and the self-trapping of quantum particles in fluids. Dr. Miller has spent sabbatical leaves at the University of Maryland and the University of New South Wales in Australia and collaborates with fellow scientists in France. In addition to carrying out research with graduate students and collaborators, he enjoys playing the violin with the Fort Worth Civic Orchestra and teaching the Physics of Music and a freshman seminar in Chaos Theory that he developed at TCU.
