Julia Glover Hall, PhD, is a professor of Criminal Justice at Drexel University. She earned her MS at Wharton and her PhD at the University of Pennsylvania and did postdoctoral study at Harvard. She was an NSF Fellow and a Woodrow Wilson Fellow. Hall specializes in the intersection of age and criminal behavior: the study of youth and the elderly in the criminal justice system. She developed and taught Probation and Parole and Correctional Agents and Administrators in working with these special populations. She has published a handbook on this subject as well as producing a documentary, Correcting Our Elders. Professor Hall initiated and chairs the statewide Pennsylvania Coalition For Fair Sentencing of Youth. She is the founding and current Convener of the Gray Panthers of Graterford, a group of elderly and youth advocates in a maximum security prison. She teaches Restorative Justice as a trained facilitator who has moderated Victim Offender Mediation groups in state prisons. Professor Hall produced and moderated a weekly television series, Criminal Justice Today. Julia Hall, PhD, is the Chair of the Paul C. Griffins Memorial Fund which presented nationally recognized leaders in a public lecture series for over 25 years. She is the Advisor of Eta Iota, the Drexel chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal Justice Honor Society. Hall is a recipient of the Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award and the Make a Difference Award. Hall has received numerous awards in recognition of her many different services in the Pennsylvania Department of Correction and the general community. She was nominated by former PA Governor Rendell for a seat on the Board of Pardons. Professor Hall is a past President of the Prison Society Board of Directors and continues to serve on the Board, currently chairing the subcommittee on Juvenile Life Without Parole and the Policy subcommittee.
