I am a Hans Rademacher Instructor of Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, PA, USA. My postdoctoral mentor is Wolfgang Ziller. In the Summer and Fall of 2016, I will be visiting the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics, in Bonn, Germany. I received my PhD from the Department of Mathematics of the University of Notre Dame, USA, in the Spring of 2015, under the supervision of Karsten Grove. My field of research is differential geometry, with emphasis in global analysis and Riemannian geometry. My current interests include manifolds with positive or nonnegative curvature and bifurcation in geometric variational problems. My approach is mainly inspired by the ubiquitous role played by symmetries of geometric structures. I also use high performance computational tools to perform symbolic and numeric experiments that guide some of my investigations. I am a member of the American Mathematical Society (AMS) and of the Brazilian Mathematical Society (SBM), and a reviewer for Zentralblatt Math. I am also an enthusiast of MathOverflow, which is a wonderful online resource for research in Mathematics. Here you can find my user profile.
