Jose Miguel Abito specializes in Industrial Organization, Regulation and Environmental Economics. His current research include investigating the interaction of price and pollution regulation in the US electricity industry and its effect on efficiency, understanding dynamics of corporate campaigns and how activists induce private regulation, and studying consumer bias in purchasing extended warranties and how it influences firms’ pricing strategies. He is also interested in antitrust policy and regulation. Jose Miguel received his PhD in Economics from Northwestern University in 2013. Prior to his doctoral studies, he attended the Toulouse School of Economics in France and the National University of Singapore.
