Samuel Blank Professor of Legal Studies, and Professor of Legal Studies and Management at the Wharton School, specializes in International human rights law in the employment area. The author of numerous books, chapters, articles and papers, her research interests are in the field of labor and employment law, both domestic and international. She is the chairperson of the Committee of Experts on the Application of Conventions and Recommendations of the International Labor Organization. She is on the editorial board of several journals, and is senior editor of the Comparative Labor Law and Policy Journal. She is the president-elect of the International Industrial Relations Association and on the executive board of the U.S. branch of the International Society for Labor Law and Social Security. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, and of the Methodist Hospital Foundation. She is also on the board of Singapore Management University and Koc University in Istanbul. She received her bachelor's and law degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and holds a M.Sc. degree from the London School of Economics, which she attended as a Thouron Scholar.
