Bidstrup-Allen's research group works at the interface of chemical engineering and materials science, focusing on the design and synthesis of polymeric materials for a range of electronics, optical and biological applications. The development of new dielectrics for microelectronics and packaging has been of primary interest. This work has been extended to the fabrication of low-cost MEMS packages. More recently micromachining techniques have been developed to produce high performance current collectors with controllable architectures for energy storage devices.
