Dr. Kalargyrou joined Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics (formerly WSBE) at the University of New Hampshire in 2009 as an assistant professor of Hospitality Management. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration and Accounting from the Athens University of Economics and Business, one of the top ten universities in Europe. She received her Ph.D. and Master’s from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), in Hospitality Administration, where she was also a part-time faculty and served as a visiting scholar at UNLV, in Singapore. Dr. Kalargyrou’s teaching and research focus on human resources and gaming, with a concentration in disability issues in the workplace, leadership, training and development. Dr. Kalargyrou has an impressive track record of leadership and entrepreneurism. In Las Vegas, she was part of the opening teams of the three-star Michelin Joel Robuchon at the Mansion of MGM Grand, the luxurious Signature hotel condos at the MGM Grand, and the Mobil five-star Wynn resorts. She has also worked as the project manager for different corporate programs at the human resources department of MGM Grand, and a facilitator at the Bellagio, Las Vegas. Before joining MGM Resorts International, she was the General Manager for several wholesale and retail businesses and has launched a successful franchise in the Balkans. In addition, she managed the family-owned yacht chartering company in Greece. Dr. Kalargyrou is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Golden Key International, and National Scholars Honor societies and several other professional organizations, such as the Council of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (CHRIE) and the Seacost Human Resources Association (SHRA). Dr. Kalargyrou’s career goals include becoming an eminent scholar in her research field, and serving her students and discipline at her full capacity.
