John R. McGowan is a Professor of Accounting at Saint Louis University. Dr. McGowan has been an active teacher in the areas of taxation and international accounting at Saint Louis University for over 15 years. In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. McGowan has also provided tax consulting services for nonresident alien and U.S. taxpayers. Dr. McGowan’s research articles have appeared in such journals as The Journal of the American Taxation Association, Journal of State Taxation, the Journal of World Trade, Accounting Horizons, CPA Journal, Tax Executive, Business and Tax Planning Quarterly, and Oil and Gas Tax Quarterly. Dr. McGowan has also served two terms as an alderman in the city of Crestwood Besides academic life, John enjoys tennis, running, lifting weights, and being involved with church
