EDUCATION PhD, Princeton University PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY James Gilroy has been a professor of French at the University of Denver since 1972. A specialist in French and Francophone literature, he is the author of four books and thirty articles. James was the president of the Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association in 1982. He was the managing editor of The French Review from 1998 to 2001. He was awarded an honorary knighthood (the Palmes Academiques) by the French Government in 1992, and that same year was named Teacher/Scholar of the Year by the University.
