I am the French Section Coordinator of MCL. Since 1983 I have led numerous study abroad programs to France and Martinique, and directed the St. Thomas semester in Paris in 2001. I teach all levels of French language, French phonetics, French literature and French civilization. I specialize in French literature of the nineteenth and twentieth century, classical and modern French theater and French cinema. My background also includes work in nineteenth century English and Russian literature. My current research interests focus on Franco-Algerian cinema and the French graphic novel and I have presented nationally and internationally on these topics. I have published numerous book reviews in journals such as World Literature Today and Nineteenth Century French Studies.
