social and political philosophy, applied ethics, individual autonomy, feminist ethics Dr. Bhandary’s work in political philosophy defends a version of liberalism that can accommodate society's care needs. She is writing a book on this topic titled “Freedom to Care.” All of her work centers on questions internal to the liberal tradition, within which she has a particular focus on autonomy, feminist criticism, the work of John Rawls, the capabilities approach, and the debate between perfectionists and political liberals. Dr. Bhandary’s teaching interests include ethics, political philosophy, multiculturalism, applied ethics and medical ethics.
