early modern philosophy, epistemology, philosophy of mind Dr. Cunning is author of Argument and Persuasion in Descartes' Meditations (Oxford, 2010), Cavendish (Routledge, forthcoming), Everyday Examples: An Introduction to Philosophy (Bloomsbury Academic, 2014), and he is editor of The Cambridge Companion to Descartes' Meditations (Cambridge, 2014). His research and teaching interests include early modern philosophy, epistemology, and philosophy of mind. He has published on the methods of rationalism and on the views and concerns of particular rationalists, with a focus on Descartes. His current work is on the materialism of Margaret Cavendish. He is also interested in issues surrounding agency.
