Dr. Neset Hikmet joined the University of South Carolina as the director of graduate studies in health information technology in August, 2012. Prior to joining the Integrated Information Technology program at USC, Dr. Hikmet was employed in Turkey in several capacities: He served as the director of the Sponsored Research Office at Özyegin University and was an associate professor in the Computer Engineering Department at the same university. Previously, Dr. Hikmet held the Otto Candies Endowed Chair in Information Systems and was professor of information systems at the Nicholls State University, Louisiana, USA. Prior to joining Nicholls State University, Dr. Hikmet served as the founding member and the director of the Center for Research in Healthcare Systems and Policies (CRHSP) at the University of South Florida. The center conducts operations research to identify and investigate key strategic issues affecting healthcare delivery systems. He has more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific papers and has been cited more than 470 times.
