Professor Hubbert has written articles on a variety of topics in the history of film music, including music at the New York movie palaces in the 1920s, Eisenstein's theory of montage, the influence of cinema verite in early 1970s soundtracks, and popular music in the films of Martin Scorsese. Her book, Celluloid Symphonies: Texts and Contexts in Film Music History, is forthcoming from the University of California Press.
