Melissa R. Bowers, Ph.D., is Director of the Master’s in Business Analytics Program and the Beaman Professor of Business in the Department of Business Analytics and Statistics at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her teaching and research interests include Production Planning and Scheduling; Production/Operations Management; Supply Chain Optimization; Lean Manufacturing; Lean MRO; Vehicle Routing; and Discrete Optimization Models.
Dr. Bowers has worked with organizations such as Milliken, ALCOA, Phillips Petroleum, Oxford Industries, the United States Air Force, the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Hanes Brands, Inc., and Cherry Point Naval Air Base. She has research articles published in Decision Sciences, European Journal of Operational Research, Interfaces, Production and Inventory Management Journal, and several other academic and professional journals.
