Dr. Fritz is director of the B. A. and M.A. programs for the Department of Communication & Rhetorical Studies and teaches courses at the undergraduate, M.A., and Ph.D. level, including Interpersonal, Intercultural, and Organizational Communication, Communication Research Methods, Organizational Communication, Communication Ethics and Professional Civility, Rhetoric and Philosophy of Organizational Communication, and Philosophy of Interpersonal Communication. Dr. Fritz's research focuses on communicative practices that constitute, sever, and restore the ties that bind individuals to the institutions of which they are a part. She is the author of Professional Civility: Communicative Virtue at Work (Peter Lang, 2013), coeditor (with Dr. S. Alyssa Groom) of Communication Ethics and Crisis: Negotiating Differences in Public and Private Spheres (2012, Fairleigh Dickinson University Press), coeditor (with Dr. Becky L. Omdahl) of Problematic Relationships in the Workplace (Peter Lang Press, 2006) and Problematic Relationships in the Workplace, Volume 2 (Peter Lang, 2012), and co-author (with Dr. Ronald C. Arnett and Leeanne Bell) of Communication Ethics Literacy: Dialogue and Difference (Sage, 2009). Dr. Fritz's work has been published in Management Communication Quarterly, Journal of Business Ethics, Communication Research Reports, Journal on Excellence in College Teaching, Journal of Public Management and Social Policy, Journal of the Association for Communication Administration, Communication Monographs, Journal of Business Communication, Speaker and Gavel, Journal of Mediated Communication, A Leadership Journal: Women in Leadership-Sharing the Vision, Atlantic Journal of Communication, and Spiritan Horizons. She is a past president of the Eastern Communication Association, executive secretary of the Religious Communication Association, and secretary of the Pennsylvania Communication Association. Dr. Fritz is editor-in-chief of Listening/Journal of Communication Ethics, Religion, and Culture and editor- of Qualitative Research Reports in Communication and Journal of the Association for Communication Administration. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Communication and Religion, Review of Communication, Communication Quarterly, and Speaker and Gavel and serves occasionally as a guest reviewer for Ammon Publishing (Psychological Research Reports; Perceptual and Motor Skills), Management Communication Quarterly, and other journals. She has been quoted in the New York Times, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Tribune Review, the Reading Eagle, the Baltimore Sun, and a number of other national and regional media outlets regarding communicative processes in work relationships.
