职业经历

I am a short story writer, novelist, and journalist primarily interested in the teaching of creative writing. I’ve taught workshops in fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction, where I usually focus on issues of language, style, and syntax, and where I routinely foist upon my students the works of my favorite authors: Virginia Woolf, Donald Barthelme, David Foster Wallace, Anne Carson, E.B. White, Frank O’Hara, and many others. My research interests involve Electronic Literature, or literary forms that use digital technologies. I like seeing what authors can do when they write stories, essays, and poems that aren’t meant for the page but rather for web browsers, apps, Twitter feeds, video games, hypertext, or multimedia platforms.
