Jacqueline E. Bixler is Alumni Distinguished Professor of Spanish and Chair of the Department of Foreign Languages & Literatures. She is also the current editor of the Latin American Theatre Review. Bixler has published books and essays on contemporary Mexican, Argentine, and Chilean theatre in edited collections and journals in the U.S., Latin America, and Europe. In March 2008, she hosted the VII Latin American Theatre Today conference/festival at Virginia Tech. Her courses at Virginia Tech include: Love, Sex & Power in Mexican Theatre; the Representation of History in Mexican Theatre & Narrative; Memory & History in Argentine Theatre & Narrative; Spanish American Culture & Literature; Mexican Cinema & the Politics of Culture; and Spanish Translation.
