Currently the chair of the Department of Engineering Management and Systems, Dr. Mykytka is an alumnus of the University of Dayton (Mathematics, 1976) who came home to join the UD faculty in 1998. While at UD, he has focused on graduate and online education, helping to establish the online Engineering Management Master’s program offered via web conferencing as one of the first accredited distance learning programs at the University. More recently, he led the development of the Department’s first asynchronous online offerings. He is recognized by the University as an eLearning Fellow and served as the associate dean of the Graduate School between 2006 and 2010. Dr. Mykytka has over 30 years of experience as a customer-focused teacher, researcher, consultant, and administrator. His teaching and research interests are focused on applying the art and science of modern statistical methods and discrete-event simulation to improve quality, reliability, productivity, and profitability in complex systems.
