Dawn Beichner is professor in the Criminal Justice Sciences Department and Women’s and Gender Studies Program. She is also the co-director of Peace and Conflict Resolutions Studies. Her research interests include sexual assault case processing, victimology, and women offenders in the criminal justice system. Her current research centers on incarcerated mothers and the role of family reunification in women's successful re-entry into society. Her most recent collaborative work, a global view of incarcerated women, was presented at the 13th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Doha, Qatar. She teaches Women & Criminal Justice, Individuals, Society & Criminal Justice, Victimology, and the graduate seminar, Issues in Justice.
