I am honored to teach all levels of Classical Ballet in the Dance Program at Illinois State University. In addition to teaching traditional classical ballet classes, I also often include training in the art of Pas de Deux, Pointe and Classical Variations. My teaching duties also include Modern at the lower levels and Arts in Elementary and Early Childhood Education (Dance sequence). I am a graduate of Texas Christian University with a degree in Classical Ballet. I have enjoyed past affiliations and training with The Houston Ballet, Fort Worth Ballet, Fort Worth Opera Ballet and The Joffrey II companies. I maintain an active working relationship with a company in Barrington, Illinois (18 years now) that allows me to work with many current professional dancers. I use this relationship to best serve my ISU students with working professional contacts. During the summers I am fortunate to be on the teaching faculty of The Governor's School for the Arts in Tennessee. I have also enjoyed working as the Choreographer for the Illinois Shakespeare Festival the past two years. I enjoy choreographing on our resident company, Illinois State Dance Theater, and will alternate between setting a "classic" to creating an original work to challenge the company members. On a personal note, I am married, have three children, also teach outside of the university and spend any remaining time I have caring for the family horses.
