Predominantly working within the realm of functional ceramic, Albion Stafford draws from notions of landscape, architecture and utility to inform his current body of work. Hailing from Philadelphia, PA, Stafford received his MFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. He has been a resident artist at various renowned institutions, including the Archie Bray Foundation for the ceramic Arts in Helena, MT. His work is exhibited both nationally and internationally. He is represented in the collections of the Schein-Joseph International Museum of Ceramic Art in New York State, The Shanghai Arts and Crafts Museum in Shanghai, China and others. Stafford comes to Illinois State University as a full time assistant professor most recently from teaching at his alma mater, NYSCC @ Alfred University.
