简介

Peter Duchessi is a Professor of Information Technology Management at the School of Business, University at Albany, State University of New York. He received his Ph.D. from the School of Management, Union Graduate College. He teaches both information systems and operations management courses at the School of Business and his research interests span both areas. His current research focuses on evaluating the economic merits of mergers and acquisitions (M&As) on information technology companies; understanding the business impact that information technology has on supply networks; applying probabilistic inferencing models to business problems; and applying data mining techniques to large data sets. These research streams involve both case-based and empirical analyses. His past research includes identifying the factors that lead to successful implementation of information technology; developing advanced computer-based systems, such as decision support systems and expert systems, for solving unstructured business problems; and developing mathematical models for health care and manufacturing operations. Professor Duchessi has published over 30 refereed articles and book chapters. He has published in refereed conference proceedings and presented his work at numerous academic and professional meetings. Most of his journal articles appear in top-tier academic journals, including Management Science, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, Financial Management, California Management Review, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, Communications of the ACM, Information & Management, and Decision Support Systems. Four of his articles have been reprinted in text books for wider dissemination. Additionally, he is the author of Crafting Customer Value: The Art and Science, which was a Featured Book Recommendation at the Harvard Business School Website, Working Knowledge of Business Leaders. He has also authored several professional publications for practitioners and has given a number of invited speeches at both private and public concerns. Professor Duchessi is an active reviewer for a number of journals, including European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, and Information & Management. He has served on several editorial boards, such as the International Journal of Applied Expert Systems, Journal of Managerial Issues, and Information & Management, and he has served as a guest editor for several publications.
