Anne Burnidge is a contemporary dancer and choreographer originally from the Chicago area. She has an MFA in choreography from The Ohio State University and a certification in Laban Movement Analysis from the Integrated Movement Studies program at the University of Utah. She is the artistic director of Anne Burnidge Dance (www.anneburnidgedance.org) and co-directs Burnidge Clark Dance. Her work has been presented across the country at venues including at Goose Route Dance Festival, Cool New York Dance Festival, Philly Fringe Festival, Toronto International Dance Festival, and the American Dance Guild Festival in New York City. Burnidge has received numerous grants and awards to pursue and present her creative research including a New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Strategic Opportunities Stipend for work, Discesa in Bianco (Descent in White). Discesa was presented at the Vision of Sound concert series in Western New York, was selected for the Northeast Regional American College Dance Festival Association Gala, and was chosen to be presented at the Rebound Dance Festival in New Haven, CT. In addition to dancing in her own work, her performing credits include Helander Dance Theatre, Open Door Theatre, and Buffalo Contemporary Dance, and she has performed in works by dance luminaries Bebe Miller, Meredith Monk, and Maguy Marin.
