Joseph E. Bernat, DDS, MS, is an Associate Professor and Chairman and Postdoctoral Program Director in the Pediatric and Community Dentistry department and Associate Dean for Hospital and External Affairs at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, in Buffalo, New York. In addition, he is Clinical Service Director at Kaleida Health, Medical Director at Craniofacial Center of Western New York and Assistant Attending/Consultant in Peidatric Dentistry at Erie County Medical Center. Dr. Bernat received his degree in dentistry (DDS) in 1973, and his Pediatric Dentistry Certificate in 1975 from SUNY at Buffalo. Dr. Bernat also received his MS, Oral Science, from SUNY at Buffalo. In addition to his many publications and presentations, Dr. Bernat is heavily involved in pre-doctoral and post-doctoral didactic and clinical courses in hospital and pediatric dentistry. Dr. Bernat is primarily located at Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo, but also has an office at the School of Dental Medicine (315 Squire Hall).
