简介

Currently Professor in Jewish-Christian Studies, Department of Religion, David Bossman served on the Religious Studies faculty at Siena College (Loudonville, NY) from 1966 until he was appointed Dean of Graduate and Continuing Studies and Director of Research in 1982 at St. Bonaventure University (Olean, NY). He came to Seton Hall University as Provost in 1985, thereafter was appointed to the Graduate Department of Jewish-Christian Studies. He is founding Executive Director of the Sister Rose Thering Fund for Education in Jewish-Christian Studies, and Editor in Chief of Biblical Theology Bulletin since 1981. He is an ordained member of Holy Name Province, Order of Friar Minor. His publications utilize cross-cultural studies in world religions, the Abrahamic faiths, and Biblical Studies, focusing on values and their applications in present day contexts. As Editor of Biblical Theology Bulletin, a quarterly refereed journal of Bible and Theology, he has managed the publication of a wide variety of manuscripts that address current methods in biblical studies, notably social science methodologies that enable contemporary readers to bridge the gap from the modern world to pre-industrial societies and their social world values. As Executive Director of the Sister Rose Thering Fund for Education in Jewish-Christian Studies, he has worked with a board of trustees to promote education as well as community awareness of issues in Jewish-Christian studies and relations among people in the Abrahamic family of religious traditions.
