University of Arizona, 1991-1998 Mechanical Engineering (Minor in Mathematics). PhD. Awarded Dec 1998. Texas A&M University, 1988-1991, Mechanical Engineering, MS Awarded Aug 1991. Ruhr Universitaet Bochum, Germany, 1989, Graduate Exchange Student. Texas A&M University, 1985-1988, Mechanical Engineering, BS Awarded Aug 1988. Texas Tech University, 1984-1985, Mechanical Engineering.
Instructor, Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering Department, KSU, 20014-present I teach undergraduate courses related to the field of thermal science: thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and other applied electives. Industrial Robotics Lab Director, Highland Park High School, Topeka, KS, 2011-2014 I was a secondary education teacher in robotics, physics and mathematics. The robotics lab was the first industrial automation lab at the High School level in the United States. I taught the basics of 6 axis robot arm safety, manipulation, programming, simulation and maintenance. The lab is a MERIT Certified Yazkawa Motoman training facility. Engineer, Contractor, Productive Data Solutions, Greenwood Villiage, CO, 2013-2014 I provided engineering analysis services to Raytheon Missile Systems. The projects involved electronics cooling, launch environment thermal predications, and fuel system analysis. Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Kansas State University, 2003-2008 Taught graduate and undergraduate courses related to the field of thermal science: thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, aerodynamics, aircraft and missile propulsion, and boiling heat transfer. Also directed the KSU MNE Heat Transfer Lab where I secured funding, directed graduate students, and published articles related to the field of multiphase heat transfer. Funded projects include: Tomahawk Fuel System and Torpedo Launch Analysis (Raytheon), Optimization of Dryer Technologies (Whirlpool), Active Cooling Systems for Military Applications (DoD), Effects of Duct Fittings on Velocity Measurements (ASHRAE), Impacts of Tube Pitch in Surface Tube Bundles (ASHRAE), and Spray Cooling of High Temperatures Surfaces (BAE Systems). Thermal Analyst, Raytheon Missile Systems Co., 1996-2003 Provided analytical support for a variety of missile programs. Work tasks ranged from developing proposal concepts, analyzing manufacturing failures, managing performance wind tunnel testing, and design analysis. Mathematics Lecturer, University of Arizona, University Learning Center, 1995-2003 Taught prep courses related to the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, and MCAT standardized exams. Also provided on-demand tutoring for any math or engineering curriculum. Research Intern, Digital Equipment Corp., 1994 Developed modularized latent cooling concepts for notebook computers. Adjunct Faculty, Pima Community College, 1992 Taught courses for the math and engineering department: college algebra, computer programming in FORTRAN.
