Dr. Atiyeh joined the department in July 2008. Prior to joining Oklahoma State University, he held several academic and industrial R&D positions in Canada and abroad. Atiyeh’s research focuses on production of advanced biofuels and biobased products through thermochemical and biochemical routes including synthesis gas fermentation and hydrolysis fermentation. The goal of Dr. Atiyeh’s research program is to advance our understanding of the biochemical and hybrid conversion technologies in converting biomass feedstocks into biofuels and biobased chemicals, including cell metabolism and activities of enzymes of novel microorganisms, process development, reactor design and scale-up.
