An assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, Schneider has a Ph.D. in Geochemistry from Colorado School of Mines and a B.A. in Chemistry from California State University, Los Angeles. Her research experience and interests focus on biologically driven redox chemistry in the environment (especially in natural water systems). This has taken her from the mountains of Colorado to the middle of the Pacific Ocean. In the future, she hopes to apply this knowledge to both environmental remediation and furthering our understanding of conditions for life on other planets.
