Dr. Benditt was an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in American Studies and then went to Penn’s law school. During his time at law school he became interested in philosophy. After completing law school and being admitted to the bar in Pennsylvania he decided to pursue philosophy, and completed his PhD at the University of Pittsburgh. He taught at Deke University and the University of Southern California before coming to UAB. Dr. Benditt has published two books and over 30 articles, including “Private Land Ownership and Its Limitations,” published in 2015.
