Lisa Baker's research interests closely align with her practice experience in medical and disaster mental health social work. She began her social work career as a perinatal social worker working with families experiencing difficult pregnancies, medically complex deliveries, special needs infants, and infant loss. She worked as a disaster mental health volunteer before and after Hurricane Katrina.
