Dr. Griffin received his PhD in Criminology, Law & Society from the University of Florida and has a JD from the University of Richmond. He joined the faculty at UAB in 2013 and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Justice Sciences Department. His teaching and research interests include drug policy, corrections, and law & society. Dr. Griffin is the author (with Dr. Vanessa Woodward and Dr. John Sloan) of The Money and Politics of Criminal Justice Policy (Carolina Academic Press, 2016). He has more than 20 peer-reviewed publications. His research has been published in International Journal of Drug Policy, Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency, Criminal Justice and Behavior, and Deviant Behavior.
