Dr. Abraham underwent medical schooling in India, and graduated with honors from the University of Madras. He underwent further training in England, where he was awarded the postgraduate degree, MRPC (UK), by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in London. In 1993, he underwent residency training at the University of Utah Medical center. Following residency training, he underwent fellowship training in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. In 1998, he was appointed as assistant professor in Medicine at the University of Utah. He has practiced and taught medicine at the University ever since. Over the years, he has developed novel techniques in the localization of parathyroid tumors and thyroid cancers. His clinical and research areas of interest include ultrasound evaluation of thyroid and parathyroid tumors. He also performs percutaneous ablations of functional thyroid and parathyroid tumors. Dr. Abraham has been the recipient of numerous teaching and faculty awards and currently is a Professor of Medicine and teaches for the School of Medicine.
