Leonard L. Bethel, Professor, teaches courses in African and African American religion and philosophy, as well as additional courses in the history of education at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has recently published the book, Educating African Leaders: Missionism In America, Lincoln University Press. The second manuscript is presently in press, soon to be published, titled La Citadelle: Layle Lane, Social Activism in 20th Century America. Bethel is presently writing two manuscripts to be published in book form. One is titled, The Hornes Of Plainfield: A Hermeneutical View Of African American Life (Westry Horne, deceased, was a highly respected New Jersey educator who was a former teaching assistant for W.E.B. DuBois); and the second manuscript is titled , Midst Glory And Honor: The Philosophy Of Sport In An Historically Black College, Lincoln University In View (a history of the spirit of sport, as a motivator for leadership, as the first liberal arts college for freedmen from slavery, founded 1854).
