Professor Sara Collie received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville in 1990. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock in 1998. She received her LCSW in 2000. Professor Collie served as a part-time faculty member prior to being appointed as Field Education Program Director in May 2011. She has eleven years post-MSW practice experience and has served as a therapist in many aspects of community mental health services. She has worked with children and their families in crisis in their homes through Ozark Guidance Intensive In-Home Services.She has also worked with children and families in crisis in Ozark Guidance residential treatment at Habberton House, and Therapeutic Day Treatment. Additionally, Professor Collie has served both clinically as a therapist, and administratively as Coordinator in Ozark Guidance School Based Services. Currently, she maintains a private practice which she started in 2001. Professor Collie has taught Problems of Child Welfare, Field Seminar II, Bridge: Culturally Competent Social Work Practice, and Practice I.
