Bill Cody has taught at Oxford College since January 1990. Born and raised in Brunswick, Georgia, he earned an A.B. (1971) and an M.A. (1973) in political science from the University of Georgia, and the Ph.D. in political science from The Graduate Faculty of Political and Social Science of the New School for Social Research in New York, in 1980. He also earned a J.D. from the Joseph Henry Lumpkin School of Law of the University of Georgia. Over the past twenty-five years, he has taught at several colleges and universities, both public and private. In addition, Dr. Cody served as law assistant to Judge George H. Carley of the Georgia Court Appeals (now Justice Carley of the Georgia Supreme Court) during 1987 and 1988, before returning to academics. Although he remains an active member of the Georgia Bar, Professor Cody does not engage in private practice.
