Brandeis University, Ph.D. University of Virginia, B.S. The Hedstrom laboratory operates at the interface between chemistry and biology. Current projects address problems in antibiotic development, inhibitor mediated protein degradation, mechanistic enzymology, and the molecular pathology of retinal degeneration. This work involves a wide array of experimental techniques, including enzyme kinetics, site-directed mutagenesis, organic synthesis, protein and RNA biochemistry, crystallography and various spectroscopic methods.
