Dr. Mehra is an Associate Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He graduated valedictorian, both from King George’s Medical College, Lucknow, India, and GSDM. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency from the combined training program between Boston University and Tufts University. Following graduation, he did a fellowship in Maxillofacial Reconstructive Surgery under the tutelage of Dr. Larry Wolford at the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. His clinical interests include surgical treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, maxillofacial pathology, nerve repair, and complex functional and esthetic facial reconstruction including Orthognathic, TMJ and Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Mehra has over 60 publications in medical and dental journals and textbooks and is frequently invited to lecture at various national and international meetings. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He was elected in 2009 as a Massachusetts delegate to the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is currently serving his second consecutive term in that position. Dr. Mehra currently serves as a member of the Examination Committee of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and was recently appointed as Section Editor, Section 1 by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2013 for a two-year term. He is also a consultant to the Commission on Dental Accreditation and previously held the position of Section Editor of the Cosmetic Surgery section of the OMSSAT/OMSITE examination from 2004-2008.
