Text: Kim Beck grew up in Colorado and received her MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and BA from Brandeis University. She works in drawing, photography, painting, installation, print media and multiples and she was recently commissioned to create a new installation at the Indianapolis Museum of Art 100 Acres Park. Her work has been shown widely including on the High Line in New York City, at the Walker Art Center, Carnegie Museum of Art, Smack Mellon, Socrates Sculpture Park, Hallwalls Contemporary Art Center, and the Warhol Museum. She’s been a fellow at Art Omi, the MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, Marie Walsh Sharpe Space Program, International Studio & Curatorial Program, Cité Internationale des Arts, Vermont Studio Center, & VCCA and has received awards from ARS Electronica, the Pittsburgh Foundation, Heinz Endowments, The Pollock-Krasner Foundation, The Thomas J. Watson Foundation and Printed Matter, which published her artist’s book, A Field Guide to Weeds. She is represented by Mixed Greens, NYC and Pentimenti Gallery, Philadelphia.
