My research focuses on how changes in participation in activities of daily living (ADL) affect the mental health of marginalized populations. Using participatory research methods with migrant groups, I have studied the relationship between sensory experiences and mental health. I have also studied the relationship between participation in occupation and social/occupational justice. In addition to my research and theoretical work, I am an occupational therapist at an inpatient psychiatric facility. Although my clinical experience is predominantly in adult inpatient psychiatric settings, I also have experience with children and in community-based health. My personal interests include outdoor activities, music, travel and spending time with family and friends.
