Dr. Boyce has been on the Curry School faculty since 1989. Her primary role has been to prepare teachers in the areas of Health and Physical Education, as well as to train doctoral students to assume university roles as pedagogists (teacher trainers). She is responsible for coordinating the following programs: BSEd/MT in Health and Physical Education, PGMT in Health and Physical Education, MEd in Pedagogy and PhD/EdD in Pedagogy. Her course load is divided between courses, seminars and supervision, all of these activities address the training of future teachers in Health and Physical Education as well as the preparation of university level teacher educators. Dr. Boyce has authored texts on case study teaching methodology and on improving teaching skills for student teachers and public school teachers. Research Interests and Scholarly Accomplishments Dr. Boyce has been an active scholar in pedagogy for more than 30 years with more than 60 referred articles published in first-tier journals (Quest, Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport, Journal of Teaching in Physical Education, Journal of Applied Sport Psychology, Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology) in Kinesiology. She has authored or co-author three books, as well as forty research abstracts and over fifty national/international presentations. She is recognized as the leading scholar/researcher in the area of doctoral programs in Physical Education – Teacher Education, with articles and monograph on these topics published in Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport and the Journal of Teaching in Physical Education. Dr. Boyce has delivered several invited lectures for the National Association of Higher Education in Kinesiology, including the prestigious Delphine Hanna Lecture (2008) and Amy Morris Homans Lecture (2013). In September of 2014, she was inducted into the National Kinesiology Academy which recognizes the top researchers/scholars in Kinesiology.
