As a computer systems administrator, Neil Clennan is part of a team that is responsible for all information technology concerns within the School of Art & Design. He maintains everything from the School’s three servers to its several hundred laptop computers, and works with the University’s ITCom unit to plan and maintain the School’s computer networks. Clennan began his career at the University of Michigan in 1987 as a member of the University’s Information Technology Division (now Information Technology Central Services) where he oversaw several public computing sites, acted as a liaison to other departments and schools, and eventually became a computer systems administrator contracted out to other departments. In 2001, after being contracted half-time to the School of Art & Design, Clennan was hired by the School as a full-time member of its information technology staff. Clennan enjoys acting and participating in other aspects of the theatre, including stage lighting design. He has performed in sixteen productions in and around Harrison, Michigan, where he grew up, and has performed in nine productions in and around Ann Arbor.
