Judi Fonzi brings extensive experience as a teacher, teacher educator and researcher to the directorship of the Warner Center for Professional Development and Education Reform. The Warner Center works collaboratively to provide services in program evaluation, leadership and organizational development, and K-12 education. Fonzi also directs the Health Professions Education program, an innovative master’s program for professionals such as doctors, nurses, clinic personnel and others who want to develop skills in teaching and learning. It is an interdisciplinary program offered through a collaboration of the Warner School of Education, the School of Nursing, and the School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Rochester. Fonzi’s research focuses on systemic reform, professional development, and teacher leadership. She is the principal investigator for a $3 million National Science Foundation (NSF) funded project, Preparing Highly Qualified STEM Teacher Leaders for Urban Schools, which aims to increase mathematics and science leadership capacity in the Rochester City School District.
