Kelley M. Anderson is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Georgetown University School of Nursing and Health Studies. She has been a faculty member in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program since 2007 and has served as the Assistant Director from 2011-2013 and the coordinator of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program on the Georgetown campus since 2011. In 2011 she developed one of the first graduate courses for the distance modality, Advanced Health Assessment, and designed and coordinated the first on campus intensive experience. She is active in the Department of Nursing, Council for the Advancement of Nursing Sciences, and served as the Chair from 2011-2013. Dr. Anderson is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and has held a clinical position as a Nurse Practitioner at Medstar, Georgetown University Hospital in the Division of Cardiology since 2002. In 2013 she began collaborating with the Arlington Street People Assistance Network (A-SPAN) to provide primary health care services to the homeless in a winter shelter in Arlington, Virginia. She is a member of the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses, serving on the Advocacy Committee; the Northern Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners, serving on the Nominations and Awards Committee; Sigma Theta Tau, serving as Graduate Counselor for the Tau Chapter; and member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Heart Association and the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties. Dr. Anderson is a reviewer for three scholarly journals and received the 2013 Certificate of Excellence in Reviewing from Heart and Lung: The Journal of Acute and Critical Care. Dr. Anderson’s areas of research interest are in heart failure and cardiovascular disease in women.
