Angela M. Antonelli is the Executive Director of the Center for Retirement Initiatives (CRI) at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy. She has been affiliated with the McCourt School since 2012 as an Adjunct teaching housing policy and financial and public management. During her career, Ms. Antonelli has held senior management positions developing and overseeing the implementation of financial services, housing, labor and other economic policies for the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as HUD’s CFO, she served as the principal responsible for the budget formulation and financial management of a $30 billion cabinet department. She also was appointed by the President to serve as a Commissioner for the White House Fellowships program in 2001. She began her career working on banking issues for the U.S. General Accountability Office (GAO) and on education issues for the U.S. Senate’s Committee on Education and Labor. In addition to her government service, Ms. Antonelli was a Firm Director for Deloitte Consulting and the Director of Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies at the Heritage Foundation. She has written dozens of articles and testified several times before Congress on economic policy and management issues. Her views, articles and work on federal programs, government performance, and regulatory reform have appeared in national media, including The New York Times, the Washington Post, Roll Call, Fortune and Business Week. She has appeared on radio and television, including CNN, Fox, C-SPAN and PBS. In 2013, Ms. Antonelli was elected by her peers as a Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration, a non-partisan organization dedicated to helping government address management challenges. She has a B.A., summa cum laude, from Cornell University and an MPA with honors from Princeton University.
